Glen E. Friedman, Fuck You Too
Friedman taught himself to shoot as a teenager in the Dogtown schoolyards, then followed the same eye into punk and hip-hop. Fuck You Too is his second book, published in 1996 as the extras and leftovers from Fuck You Heroes, though it runs wider than that name suggests, close to four hundred pictures across roughly 180 pages. Color and black and white throughout. Tony Alva and Christian Hosoi in the empty pools, Black Flag and Minor Threat and Bad Brains, Run-DMC in Hollis and Public Enemy.
The text was written by C.R. Stecyk III, who first chronicled the Dogtown skaters. It belongs to a wider run of Friedman books, from Fuck You Heroes through the My Rules retrospective, his ongoing record of American skate, punk, and hardcore.
