A modern study in American essentials—timeless clothing shaped by quality, culture, and ease.
Hanover is an American clothing brand founded by Chris Black founded in 2025. We make everyday essentials — tees, polos, oxfords, sweatshirts, denim, and accessories — produced in Los Angeles with nothing priced over $300.
We started Hanover with a simple belief: the foundation of an American wardrobe shouldn't cost what it does today. Well-made, thoughtfully designed clothing should be accessible enough to wear every day—not reserved for special occasions.
Our collections are informed as much by books, music, design, and art as they are by clothing itself. We believe the best essentials are the ones you reach for without thinking—pieces that become more personal with every wear.
Founded by Chris Black, Hanover reflects a lifelong appreciation for American style and the culture that surrounds it. Chris has spent more than a decade shaping brands and writing about fashion, design, and culture for publications including New York Magazine, Interview, and GQ, and co-hosts the podcast How Long Gone.
We work closely with a community of patternmakers, cutters, sewers, and manufacturers across Los Angeles to produce every garment locally, with an emphasis on craftsmanship, longevity, and attention to detail.
Hanover is not trying to reinvent American clothing. We're just trying to make it right.
